Currently working at ICAR-Indian Institute of Farming Systems Research, Modipuram from 2011. Having 28 years of research experience in the coastal and other regions, presently involved in coordination of integrated farming systems, cropping systems, organic and natural farming research activities at National level as Project Coordinator, AICRP on Integrated Farming Systems and National Principal Investigator of All India Network Programme on Natural Farming. Published 187 research and review papers (166 research papers & 9 review papers in National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (NAAS) rated journals and 12 research papers in non-NAAS rated journals). In addition to this, other publications such as, 45 popular articles, 15 books, 73 book chapters, 20 technical bulletins, 29 research folders, 17 Training Manuals, 5 Video films and 50 TV/Radio broad casting have also been made. Based on the farmer participatory research, 150 geo-referenced farming systems success stories have been documented by involving 23 State Agricultural Universities. As a National Principal Investigator of All India Network Programme on Organic Farming (NPOF), detailed package of practices for organic production of crops in cropping systems perspective have been prepared for 80 cropping systems suitable for 16 states of India and published as “Organic Farming: Crop Production Guide and Organic Farming Packages for Major cropping systems of India”. Four technologies on integrated farming systems and organic farming and one methodology on sustainable livelihood security index for evaluation of farming systems have been developed as Lead developer and recognized at National level by ICAR. Three copy rights obtained. Received 4 National awards, 11 Institutional awards and 12 Academic Societies awards. Visited Bhutan, The Netherlands, Mexico, Nepal and Thailand in connection with organic and integrated farming systems research collaboration and linkage. Recognised as Fellow of Indian Society of Agronomy. Worked /working as Member of national level committees constituted for preparing the course/syllabus on organic and natural farming, Member Secretary of ICAR constituted national level committee for Empirical validation of Subash Palekar Natural Farming (SPNF) model, ICAR constituted committee for developing crop plans. Acted as Convener of the Expert committee constituted to review the BIS standards for organic agriculture and worked as Member of committee constituted for preparing Standards and Certification methods for Natural farming.
