Swapnil Baraskar

About

I am a Ph.D. scholar in Genetics and Plant Breeding at ICRISAT, working on harnessing the untapped genetic diversity of wild germplasm to develop climate-resilient crop varieties. My research focuses on interspecific hybridization and embryo rescue techniques to address major biotic stresses, particularly Ascochyta blight.

In addition to my scientific training, I hold an Advanced Diploma in Patent Law from NALSAR, along with certifications from Harvard Law School and WIPO. I am deeply interested in the convergence of crop innovation and intellectual property, aiming to ensure that future agricultural advancements are not only scientifically robust but also effectively protected.
