Dr. Wasiya Farzana holds a doctoral degree in Agricultural and Food Process Engineering and a master’s from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore. Dr Wasiya has been awarded with Dr. Kalam Best Mentor Award for 2024. She has qualified for Women Scientist-C Scheme from Department of Science and Technology for training in intellectual property rights. She is an ICAR JRF and SRF holder for pursuing her master’s and PhD degree program. She is PMFME trained District Resource Person for Kondagaon District, Chhattisgarh. She is currently working in Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, Coimbatore as an Assistant Professor. She has received grants from DST for the Entrepreneurship Development Program for women. She is also into research and scholarly opinions for BioNEST incubates. Her research interests encompass the design of post-harvest processing machinery, development of low-cost technologies, millet puffing, turmeric processing and lipid modification. She has authored peer-reviewed scientific publications and chapters in both national and international journals, as well as book chapters with well-known publishers. Additionally, she is an active member of various professional societies.
